DESMOND ROSE

 We were sorry to learn recently of the death of Desmond Rose last autumn. (2006) Desmond was our enthusiastic Musical Director from 1963—1975, conducting at least 20 of our major musical shows and revues in venues as diverse as the Hippodrome, the Palace Pier Theatre and the Theatre Royal. He also used sometimes to make special arrangements of the scores for both orchestra and chorus. As a gifted violinist, he returned to serenade us at one of our Centenary Receptions in 1986.
